ENHANCING TAMARIKI WELLBEING

What is Healthy Active Learning?

Healthy Active Learning is a joint government initiative between Sport NZ, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, and Health NZ – Te Whatu Ora. It supports schools and kura to improve the wellbeing of tamariki and rangatahi through healthy eating and drinking, and quality physical activity.

It is part of New Zealand’s Child Youth and Wellbeing Strategy, a set of actions across government to improve the wellbeing of all children and young people under the age of 25.

WHAT WE DO

Our team intensively supports 30 schools across Ti Tauihu stretching from Motueka to Wairau/Marlborough.

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to broaden our reach to support all primary kura in this area to provide quality physical activity opportunities for their Tamariki through professional learning and development.
