What is Healthy Active Learning?

Healthy Active Learning is a nationwide initiative from Sport NZ, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Health NZ – Te Whatu Ora, helping schools build wellbeing into everyday learning.

In Te Tauihu, our Healthy Active Learning Facilitators work with primary and intermediate schools to increase access to quality play, sport and movement, strengthen practices that support hauora, and create environments that make healthy choices and connection with others easier.

Most of this happens through professional learning and development workshops, programmes and conversations with school staff, with a focus on physical activity, eating and drinking.
