Thank a Sport Maker Winner in Tasman Region!

Congratulations to all the 10 Sport Makers from across the country who have been awarded with $2000 worth of sports gear for them and their teams.

The Tasman region was lucky to have a Thank a Sport Maker winner!  Leanne Anderson from Richmond Rabbits (Rugby League Club) who has recently taken up the position of Chairperson.

Leanne had a glowing reference from Ryan Charles (Tasman Rugby League), see below:

“I had the pleasure of meeting Leanne Anderson 3 years ago, upon which time I knew that she would potentially be the best acquisition on or off the field that the Richmond Rabbits Club could have hoped for. From her first year with the club as the team Manager/Camp mum, she has gone on to fill just about every off-field position with the club, up until late last year when she stepped into the vacant Chairperson role. Although not required, Leanne is regularly the first one at games, eager to help with set up, to being the last one to leave after helping with pack-down and clean up. She constantly searches for ways to get the club involved with the local community, and does so on top of a full time accounting job, as well as a part time voluntary position with a local youth community trust. She is responsible for all club funding applications, and has played a major part in the success of the Rabbits club. On top of all of the above, this year she volunteered to be the tournament organiser of the Southern Zone 15s/17s tournament to be held on 6th-9th of July. I have no doubt that Leanne’s attention to detail with organising this tournament certainly put rugby league in Nelson on the map. Leanne’s contribution to the rugby league community within the Rabbits club and the Tasman district is something that should be admired, and is a huge reason why the game is continuing to grow here in sunny Nelson”.
